Important Strategies for Containing the Spread

  • As soon as possible, get a COVID-19 vaccination. Look for a vaccination.
  • To protect yourself and others, use a mask that covers your nose and mouth.
  • Maintain a 6-foot gap between you and those who don't live with you
  • Avoid crowds and indoor areas that aren't well ventilated.
  • Hands should be cleaned with soap and water on a regular basis. Use hand sanitizer if soap and water aren't accessible

Wear a mask

  • Everyone above the age of two should wear a mask in public
  • Masks should be used in addition to maintaining a 6-foot separation from people, especially those who do not live with you
  • If someone in your home is sick, everyone in the house should take measures, such as wearing masks to prevent the infection from spreading to others.
  • Hands should be washed or sanitised before putting on your mask.
  • To hold the mask in place, put it over your nose and mouth, as well as under your chin.
  • Slip the loops over your ears or tie the strings behind your head to secure the mask to the sides of your face.
  • If you have to adjust your mask frequently, it isn't fitting properly, and you should look for an alternative style or brand.
  • Make sure you can readily breathe.

Masks are needed on aircraft, buses, trains, and other kinds of public transportation entering, leaving, or entering the United States, as well as at U.S. transportation hubs such as airports and train stations. In outside regions of a conveyance, passengers are not required to wear masks (like on a ferry or the top deck of a bus). Travelers who have not been completely vaccinated, according to the CDC, should continue to wear a mask and at a safe distance.

Keep a distance of 6 feet between you and others

Avoid close contact with ill individuals within your house. Maintain a 6-foot distance between the ill person and other family members if at all feasible.

Outside your home:

Outside your home, keep a 6-foot space between yourself and anyone who isn't a member of your family.

Remember that even if you don't have any symptoms, you might transfer the infection.

Maintain a distance of at least 6 feet (2 arm lengths) between you and other people

People who are at a higher risk of being severely unwell should keep their distance from others.

Vaccinate yourself

  • COVID- The CDC has authorised 19 vaccines that can help protect you.
  • When the COVID-19 vaccination becomes available, you should receive it.
  • You may be allowed to resume some activities that you had put on hold because to the pandemic after you are completely vaccinated.

Avoid crowded areas and locations with poor ventilation.

  • COVID-19 is more likely to spread in crowded places like restaurants, pubs, fitness facilities, and movie theatres.
  • As far as possible, avoid interior areas that do not provide fresh air from the outside.
  • Open windows and doors to let fresh air into the house if feasible.

Handwashing should be done often.

Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds after being in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

  • Washing is very important
  • Before you consume or prepare food
  • Before you touch your face, think about it.
  • After you've used the restroom
  • When you've left a public area
  • When you've blown your nose, coughed, or sneezed
  • After you've handled your mask
  • After a diaper change
  • After caring for a sick person
  • After interacting with animals or pets,
  • Use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water aren't readily accessible. Cover all of your hands and massage them together until they are completely dry.
  • Touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands is not recommended.

Coughs and sneezes should be covered.

If you're wearing a mask, you should

You can sneeze or cough into your mask. Put on a new mask and wash your hands as soon as possible

If you're not wearing a mask, you should:

When coughing or sneezing, always use a tissue or the inside of your elbow to cover your mouth and nose, and never spit

Dispose of used tissues in the garbage

Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water right away. If soap and water aren't available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol to clean your hands.

Disinfect and clean

  • Clean high-touch surfaces on a regular basis. Tables, doorknobs, light switches, worktops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks all fall under this category.
  • Disinfect commonly touched surfaces if someone is ill or has tested positive for COVID-19. Follow the manufacturer's indicated recommendations when using a home disinfectant from the EPA's List N: Disinfectants for Coronavirus (COVID-19) external icon.
  • Prior to disinfection, clean surfaces with detergent or soap and water if they are filthy

Monitor your health daily

Be on the lookout for signs and symptoms. COVID-19 symptoms include fever, cough, shortness of breath, and other symptoms

It's especially crucial if you're running errands, walking into the office or business, or in other situations when keeping a physical distance of 6 feet is challenging.

If symptoms appear, take your temperature.

Do not take your temperature within 30 minutes after exercising or after taking acetaminophen or other drugs that might decrease your temperature.
